East Midtown Plaza

Playground & Plaza

Located in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan, East Midtown Plaza was built in 1975, standing at 27 stories with 522 units. FirstService Project Management was hired for a second time to redesign the extensive outdoor spaces at this Mitchell-Lama property.

East Midtown Plaza is broken into two specific plazas, the south plaza incorporates sprawling walkways, large planters that accommodate native plants to the region. Our team has transformed a concrete amphitheater into an inviting garden oasis, incorporating the best of the Fibonacci design. The south plaza boasts a new toddler and small children play area.

Within the North Plaza, we created a rain garden and walking path completed with a water feature that casts an acoustically inviting sound. As dawn turns to dusk, dozens of lights peppered throughout the plaza and moonlights that adorn the roof glimmer to create the experience known as East Midtown Plaza.
